This is Jan and her stunning quilt. Jan won 2 ND prize Predominantly applique Amateur. FIRST time entrant woo hoo. Such a spectacular quilt.
Jan took her time doing the most stunning job of the stitching. Look the sashing has applique too and those full luscious borders . A huge credit to you Jan. I'm so very thrilled and proud of you.
Bev also with her version Baltimore. Bev started with the stripe sashing fabric as her pallet and it grew from there. Get this, Bev won same category as Jan's , Judges Commendation and Best Domestic machine Quilting Amateur. Congratulations Bev spectacular. Wow first time entrant too!!! The stitching also was wonderful and beautiful placement of colour throughout the quilt.
How special it is , I cant articulate in words , to have the trust from student's, to keep going it will, be beautiful. This Baltimore is a very large long term project. So much work, so much commitment, so much time sitting blanket stitching. Then the machine quilting a huge quilt is hard. Yes hard BUT they persevered , head down and got on with the job. So if your in the process of making yours , keep going , pick it up when you get a chance , little bites ,it is well worth the time .
Oh yes I won Judges choice Jane Gibson ( pictured below with me) and Hangers prize . wow thank you For my Secret garden quilt. Lots of lovely comments from the public.
