Modern quilt show australia Kiama

On the weekend my friend Kim and I attended the Wollongong Modern Guild quilt show in Kiama.

This wonderful venue right on the ocean sea cliffs in the beautiful south coast of NSW was the perfect setting for a room full of great modern quilts.

This terrific group of committed modern quilters outdid themselves. As soon as we walked into the venue the atmosphere in the air was HAPPY... there is something about a modern quilt that just makes me smile.:)  I love the freedom , the looking at old patterns and techniques and giving them a fresh approach. Seeing shapes differently , new layouts for blocks , new colour palletts. Bright hues, clean colours , white backgrounds to set off the rainbow...... I could go on and on....

Ill let the quilts do the talking now I promise.

Best of show By  RachaelDaisy.....

Hi Deborah, Thank you so much for saying such wonderful things about my quilts, and picking the Yoyos a la Mode quilt as your viewers choice. You've made me smile now :) It was a great show wasn't it, so many amazing quilts in such a beautiful setting. The Woolongong Modern Guild did an excellent job.
